What is NAET? 

NAET acts to eliminate energy blockages and is used to permanently eliminate allergic response from the body towards the treated allergen. This technique is completely natural, noninvasive, and drug free. An allergy is an adverse physical, physiological, and/or psychological response towards an allergen. Testing and treatment comprise muscle response testing (MRT), acupuncture or acupressure, spinal point stimulation (using spinal pressure device or thumb pressure), and adherence to the appropriate food plan for the 25 hour period following the treatment. Treatment through the use of a surrogate is necessary in some cases. Treatments always begin with the first 10-15 basic groups and the first 5 are required before treating other allergens.   

NAET is an innovative treatment for allergies that is completely natural, painless, and non-invasive. This method can be used safely on anyone, even newborn infants, the elderly, patients in a coma and pets. NAET can be used to treat healthy individuals with hidden allergies that could cause illness in the future. NAET can complement other medical therapies requiring the use of pharmaceutical drugs (e.g. antibiotics, chemotherapy, radiation) to treat for any side effects and to maximize the effectiveness of the drugs.

How Can Allergies Cause Illness?

An individual can be allergic to anything: food, drinks, drugs, herbs, vitamins, water, clothing, jewelry, chemicals, paint, silicone, latex, plastics, pollen, grasses etc. Allergy symptoms can range from mild to debilitating reactions to life threatening illnesses. Medical scientists are still researching the exact cause and nature of allergies. From a Western medical point of view, an allergy is an overreaction of the immune system. In NAET allergies are viewed from a holistic perspective based on principles of East Asian Medicine and defined in terms of the effect an allergic substance has on the flow of qi in the body.

In an allergic person, the allergic substance (allergen) is viewed by the brain as a threat to the body's well being. When contact is made with an allergen, it causes blockages in the body's energy pathways called meridians, disrupting the normal flow of energy through the body's electrical circuits. This blockage causes an interference in communication between the brain and the body via the nervous system which begins a chain of events that can develop into an allergic response.

How Does NAET work?

NAET works to reprogram the brain and remove the blockages from the energy pathways thereby allowing the body to regain balance and allow optimal normal function. NAET is a synthesis of various medical disciplines including allopathy, acupuncture, chiropractic, kinesiology, and nutrition. MRT or muscle response testing is used to indicate the kinetic imbalances in the body caused by allergens. NAET treatment stimulates points along the spine while the patient is holding an allergen. A strong MRT indicates that the allergy has been removed. Specific acupressure points are then massaged or needled to stabilize the treatment. The substance treated is then avoided for 25 hours following treatment.
